NEW PATIENTS / MORAYFIELD
A first visit.
A clearer next step.
You do not need a diagnosis before you come. Start by telling us what is troubling you and what you want to be able to do.
YOUR FIRST VISIT, EXPLAINED
Discuss. Assess.
Plan together.
Your first consultation helps you understand your concern and decide on an appropriate next step.
- 01
Discuss your concerns.
Tell us what is troubling you, how it affects your day and what you would like to do more comfortably.
Your symptoms, health history, previous care and goals help guide the assessment.
- 02
Have an assessment.
An examination considers your concern alongside your movement, health and relevant physical findings.
Relevant movement, physical and neurological checks may be included. Ask what each part of the examination is for.
- 03
Agree on the next steps.
Discuss the findings and options, including whether chiropractic care, further investigation or referral is appropriate.
Explore potential benefits, risks and alternatives. Any plan should reflect your needs, preferences and response to care.

COMMON QUESTIONS
Before your first visit.
Do I need a referral?
You can contact the clinic directly about a private appointment. If you plan to use a GP care plan, DVA or another funded pathway, ask reception which referral and eligibility requirements apply.
Do you welcome DVA and GP care-plan patients?
Yes. Eligible DVA patients and patients with a GP care plan have no out-of-pocket fee for covered chiropractic visits at our clinic. A valid referral and available funded visits are required. Bring your referral and relevant Veteran Card or Medicare card, and contact reception if you would like help confirming eligibility.
Will I need an X-ray?
Imaging is not automatically needed for back pain or a posture concern. Your history and examination guide whether an investigation would change your care. Bring relevant existing reports if you have them.
Will I receive treatment at the first visit?
This depends on the assessment, your needs and the appointment. The first priority is to understand your concern and discuss suitable options. Ask reception if you need to know what the booked appointment includes.
How many appointments will I need?
There is no single number for everyone. Recommendations should reflect your assessment, goals and response to care, with progress reviewed along the way.
What if I am nervous about treatment?
Tell Dr Shahar about your concerns, previous experiences and preferences. You can ask for an explanation, discuss alternatives and ask to pause. Any treatment should follow a discussion of the expected benefits, risks and your consent.
How much time should I allow?
Check your booking confirmation or call 0493 018 106 to confirm the length of your appointment and when to arrive. Allow time to find the chiropractic clinic inside Health Hub Doctors.
What should I bring or wear?
Bring relevant medical information, existing reports and any referral needed for funded care. Wear comfortable clothing that allows movement. You can use or print the first-visit checklist.
How do I book or change an appointment?
Use the HotDoc booking page or call 0493 018 106. For changes, cancellations or appointment-specific questions, contact the clinic.
