I have always found great fulfilment in helping patients reach their full physical potential—relieving pain, reducing stress, and improving daily function. Chiropractic care focuses on optimising musculoskeletal and nerve function, which often brings immediate or progressive relief. Witnessing these transformations inspired me to do even more for my patients.

I am both a chiropractor and researcher at the University of the Sunshine Coast, where my focus is on bone structural remodelling under mechanical load. My work has been published in leading journals, including Journal of Anatomy, Scientific Reports – Nature, Spine, and Clinical Biomechanics.

Musculoskeletal disorders impose a heavy personal and social burden, yet are often overlooked or treated ineffectively. Through clinical practice and research, I have developed patient-centred strategies—spinal manipulation, posture correction, and prevention techniques—guided by the latest evidence. I regularly treat headaches, neck and back pain, sciatica, radiculopathy, and posture-related issues, often collaborating with like-minded practitioners.

My commitment to raising awareness of posture’s importance led me to create Dr Posture® and develop educational resources (Reform or Deform, Stretching for Life) and products such as the Thoracic Pillow® and Posture Hero.

If you or your family are dealing with pain or posture-related concerns, I invite you to book a session so we can explore effective solutions together.

About Dr Shahar's Research

Research Interests

  • Skeletal remodeling in response to abnormal mechanical load

  • Spinal/postural correction and prevention of musculoskeletal issues

  • Integration of chiropractic into mainstream healthcare

Musculoskeletal disorders (MSK) cause growing social and financial burdens worldwide. Dr Shahar’s research highlights the pivotal role of mechanical load—alongside genetic and inflammatory factors—in shaping musculoskeletal health, linking abnormal loading directly to pathology.

His early findings raised concerns about the future musculoskeletal health of young adults and underscored the importance of early prevention strategies. Building on this, his later research explored spinal/postural correction and prevention techniques for managing common MSK conditions.
